Atttudes if the Heart: Congruency

-integration=living out of the core convictions
-function atheism: saying there is a God but living as if there isnt.
"By their daily lives most "christians" regularly commit treason. With their mouths they claim that Jesus is Lord but with their actions the demonstrate allegiance to money, sex, and self-fulfillment."

-congruency=your life on the inside the same as on the outside
-integrity=being the same person at work and home, good and bad. and no matter the situation.
-Deut 6:4-8 love the Lord your God with all your soul might and heart....
-Mark 12:28-3 jesus adds mind and love your neighbor as yourself
-integrate EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES
-Orthodoxy: right doctrine
-Orthopraxy: right practice
-Orthokardia: right heart
*Do things because your heart is in it. Because it SCARES YOU TO DEATH. it encourages faith.*
*do you believe God will do what you pray...what you ask*

-1 Peter 2:9 (imporatnt theme in Reformation)
You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation of people belonging to God that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
*he gives us an identity in HIM, we are HIS people.*

Threefold call of God:
-to belong to God (conversion)
-to be God's people (community)
-to do God's work (ministry)

-Vocation is Latin for "voice"
*NOTE: there is a train track outside the classroom...i saw it*

What does servant ministry look like?
1. Practical
2. Humble
- Phil. 2:3-8 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain coneit, but in humility regard others better than yourselves...
-(can also use BECAUSE instead of THOUGH...different view..)
3. Rooted in relationship
4. Incarnational
-not detatched...God was THERE with people. INVOLVED. lead by action. give time. enter into their experience and their world. going to them. them being those who we are reaching toward.
5. Growing
